The Role:
The Business Development Manager (BDM) will be responsible for conducting Strategic Business Development to net new targets within prospect accounts, with the objective of introducing/positioning Pandera’s services to key decision-makers to drive activity through the initial phases of the sales cycle and to qualify marketing generated leads for the sales force. This will include cold calling as well as follow up from marketing events and activity with the focus on setting up an initial meeting between the prospect and the assigned Account Executive or Regional Partner.

Your Focus:

Outbound Business Development
  • Conduct Outbound Strategic Business Development in concert with Regional Account Executives/Solution Partners, where the BDM will work with several Field members, with the objective of creating qualified leads for the sales force. This will often be associated with setting up an initial meeting/introductory call between the prospect and the assigned Account Executive.
Inbound Business Development
  • Conduct Strategic Business Development as part of follow-up with prospects who have responded to our Marketing Activities (Events & Tradeshows, Website downloads, Email campaigns, etc.) with the objective of creating qualified opportunities for the sales force. This will often be associated following up on activity, inquiring about interest, qualifying the lead per Pandera qualification metrics, and if qualified moving forward with setting up an initial meeting between the prospect and the assigned Account Executive.
All Business Development
  • Work with Marketing and Field Sales teams to become knowledgeable in all Pandera offerings such that the BDM is able to effectively communicate the value proposition to specific pain points for the right buyer profile and to communicate our differentiators in a clear and compelling way that drives interest and results in qualified leads/initial meetings.
  • Perform account and territory research to include but not limited to: new prospects, emerging companies, specific targets within accounts, and contact information for said targets
  • Maintain daily activities in Netsuite CRM system, tracking interactions with prospects and customers (Experience with Netsuite preferred)
  • Provide weekly updates to manager on individual activity/performance
  • Interact regularly with all areas of Marketing and Sales, to discuss the lead qualification process, and recommend improvements
  • Work closely with the Marketing team in developing new ways to increase awareness of Pandera services
  • Drive participation to marketing events and set-up on-site meetings with Pandera Sales & Management team

You should also bring the following:
  • Prior business development experience preferred
  • Strong telephone and prospecting (cold-calling) skills
  • Understanding of enterprise software/professional services; B2B high tech industry a plus
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Willing to work in a fast-paced, dynamic sales environment
  • Goal-oriented, highly confident, self-motivated
  • Excellent organizational skills
  • Adaptable to new challenges
